This Lodgepole Pine, collected by Randy Knight from the Rocky Mountains, is approximately 65 years old and has been in training for 4 years. It was originally styled by Ryan Neil and is housed in a Yamaaki container. The tree has been repotted once but will likely need repotting again within the next year or two. This incredibly short, compact Lodgepole Pine features amazing bark and a distinctive branching structure reminiscent of the quirky irregularity found in Japanese Red Pines. The tree embodies the artistic desirability associated with such character while showcasing the unique expression of a native North American pine. Its structure is well-suited for evolving in a secondary phase of scaffolding expansion, promising more aggressive back budding, increased density, and accelerated refinement. This tree is an excellent candidate for a potential three-point display and offers a wonderful blend of durability and potential.
