This Lodgepole Pine, collected by Rich Williams from the Cascade Range of Oregon, is approximately 85 years old and has been in training for about 6 years. This tree is one of the original and iconic literati designs created by Mirai. It was both initially styled and repotted on Mirai Live, showcasing its intricate design in the beautifully complex Jonathan Cross container. The pot enhances the tree’s environmental and contextual representation, complementing the confined space typical of literati cultivation and contributing to its delicate, elegant character. Currently in a state of refinement, the tree has expanded its ramification and will likely require further branch reduction in the future. For now, it is approaching the realization of its original design concept and will continue to improve as it matures.
