The glazed piece by prodigious Czech potter Tom Benda takes Tom’s incredible sense of shape and gives depth to it through his considerate choice of subtle glazes. Much like the varying color and patina his unglazed pots gain from the wood-fire process, Tom’s glazed containers experience intense effects and oftentimes possess dramatic transitions of color. Each firing has a distinct and individual impact on Tom’s pieces which means the appearance of each container can never be duplicated.
