This Ponderosa Pine is housed in a Gyozon container, crafted by a famed Japanese ceramicist and highly coveted for its artistry. The tree was originally styled by an unknown artist, and details about its time in training are also unspecified. Despite this, we acquired it for its remarkable qualities. The tree features rugged, plated bark that reflects significant time spent cultivating it in a container. Its creeping roots, distinctive deadwood, and visually engaging structure contribute to its quiet but substantial interest. The tree will need to be repotted next spring but is currently in excellent health, back-budding profusely and evolving rapidly. Additionally, attempts were made to graft Black Pine onto it. We will leave these grafts in place for the next owner to utilize if desired.
