Grown by Tom Roberts, of Driftwood Bonsai, this Itoigawa shinpaku juniper is just beginning its journey as a bonsai. The subject of the "How to Make a Juniper Bonsai" video, this phenomenal piece of material was hand selected out of Tom's field as the highest representation of the quality material he's growing. Deadwood live vein reduction and the initial structure have built a scaffolding for a phenomenal medium size shinpaku, and this tree is only going to get better. Existing in an informal round from retired bonsai ceramicist, Ron Lang, this composition as a whole is just beginning its journey, and has an incredible start with already desirable features in process.
