His container imitates a high, precipitous cliffside environment. Immature Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) seedlings were wired to create the subtle shapes that show the changing movement of trees occupying differing positions in the cliffside environment. Both elements combined to show a unique forest form in a very compressed conceptual space.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe wire on the trunks are just starting to bite in. They were left intentionally to form slight scars that will enhance the rapidity of bark formation on young pines. It should be removed next spring and the trees left to heal for a year.
